My Journey

My journey began the day I saw my first pony sitting in a field at 4 years old. I knew that not only did I want that pony, but that I was in love and that I would spend the next 40 years working, riding and taking care of horses. I grew up in nature and loved being outside connecting to Mother Earth. I lived on Cape Cod, MA and was surrounded by ocean and the smell of salt water in the air daily. My parents took me to horse riding lessons as early as 6 years old, but I was a little too small yet and they asked me to wait until I was 10 to allow me to grow and get stronger.

I loved being around horses, their smell, the smell of the barn and hay, grain and leather was intoxicating to me. I was in heaven. My parents resisted buying me a horse, but I persisted and was able to have my own horse at 13. I spent every waking moment with my horse, Irish Whiskey, and was happy to be at the barn all day each weekend and after school.

I grew up in an alcoholic family and the tension that was part of my everyday life melted away when I was surrounded by those loving gentle giants. When it was time to go to college, I chose one that would allow me to bring my horse with me. I spent two years in West Virginia at Salem College and then went onto Westmoreland Davis for one more year of intensive horse knowledge of how to ride and teach.

I graduated and went right into a job taking care of horses. I spent many years grooming, cleaning stalls, feeding and barn maintenance. My many years of taking care of horses led me to eventually have a barn of my own. I purchased a farm in Pennsylvania and ran a horse boarding facility for the last 19 years. I raised a family and had the opportunity to work from home.

In the last few years I have been exploring different methods of healing. I was introduced to a Reiki Master who did some body work on me and I felt inspired to learn this modality and become trained at Reiki myself. I took the Reiki classes that were offered in Reiki 1,2 and 3 and became a Reiki Master in 2018. Reiki is a beautiful way to move energy in the physical body. We can have energy stuck in our body and that may cause physical pain or stiffness. I can help you alleviate that pain or sensation that is stuck and move the energy in your systems. Due to the Corona Virus we need to stay away from each other, and this gives Reiki practitioners an opportunity to “send “Reiki. We can meet online and have a session virtually.

I have always had a fascination for Astrology and found a teacher in Boulder Colorado that was teaching astrology online. I have been studying Astrology for the last four years and am amazed at how accurate and helpful Astrology is in the events that are happening in our world today and in our own natal charts and how they show us the energies that were present when we came into this world. I can show you why you may be more emotional or full of energy or really strict and practical or just have a lot to say and love to read and write. Your natal chart is a guide to you and everyone is different, so you chose to come in as you are to learn the lessons you have learned and are still learning today.

Tarot cards were created in Italy in the 14th or early 15th Century as a game for the Duke of Milan’s family called Tarocchi which was popular amongst nobility. The deck traveled in Europe and in the 18th Century became mystical in nature when the occult became popular. I have been studying the Tarot for the last year. I love to do readings for my friends and family and now are offering readings to clients. The readings share with you the energy of your recent past, where your energy is now, any conflicts and where you will be heading in the near future. I end with an underlying energy card for the whole reading.

During my last four years on the farm I felt called to continue my education in Ministry. I have been a lifelong Episcopalian and had been in a leadership role for many years. I looked into many possibilities for Seminary and decided on One Spirit Learning Alliance in New York, NY. One Spirit Seminary met one weekend a month, you could participate via online if needed. I attended Seminary from 2016 to 2018 and became an Ordained Interspiritual Minister in 2018. As a minister, I am trained to participate in baby blessings, marriages and funerals or any service that someone would like to create. One Spirit also offers a two year Spiritual Counseling Program that I applied for and was accepted right after Seminary. I continued my monthly classes and graduated June 2020. Spiritual Counseling is an exploration into one’s spiritual life. I companion individuals who are interested in being curious of life and a deeper knowing of themselves and spirit.

I had the opportunity to sell my horse farm, retire from running a horse boarding facility and have opened Connecting Mind and Body. I still have a huge love of all animals and would love to work with clients who love animals as much as I do or have had a loss with a loved one or a loving pet. I am available online and do have a home office for anyone close to Northeastern Pennsylvania.
